Enclose Special Announcements with Your Newsletter
Whether you send a newsletter by regular mail or e-mail, the distribution process provides you with an opportunity to communicate with your clients, patients or referral sources. Ideally, a newsletter contains information about what is happening in your field—it may be updates on newly passed tax legislation or digests of studies validating various physical therapy techniques, depending on the nature of your professional practice. But don’t neglect this opportunity to include an announcement about your office.
Perhaps you have added a new staff member, achieved a new certification or are preparing to expand your office. Be sure to include an article inside your newsletter notifying your clients or patients of the change.
Or, if you have been featured in the local media, include a reprint of the article or, in an electronic newsletter, a link to it online. Additionally, if you feel that an article in the news would interest one or all of your newsletter recipients, include it in the newsletter mailing. Just make sure that you have permission to reproduce the article. You can usually obtain limited reprint permission with a short note or phone call, as long as you give proper credit.
Sending a newsletter affords you the opportunity to keep in touch with your clients, patients or referral sources. Make sure you take every advantage to communicate important information.
